ALX Transforms Tech programme is a Fully-Funded scholarship providing 20,000 Udacity Tech Nanodegree Programs for African youth in 10 countries to enable them to become future leaders and entrepreneurs.
All courses are powered by Udacity with a mission to train the world’s workforce in the careers of the future.
Who Can Apply
- The nationalities of applicants must be Nigerian, Ghanaian, South African, Kenyan, and Rwandan
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Basic computer skills
- 18 to 35 years old
Foundational Programme Specialization
The foundational programmes are for anyone without prior knowledge or experience in Data, Cloud, or Programming. No prerequisites are needed.
1. Java Script Programming
Learn the basics of programming through JavaScript and Networking. Get extensive practice with hands-on exercises and projects that demonstrate your grasp of coding fundamentals, and build confidence in your ability to think and problem-solve like a programmer.
What you will learn:
– Fundamentals of Web programming
– Object-Oriented Programming
– Build Classes
– Network, Routing, and OSI Model
Duration: 1 Month (10hours per Week)
Prerequisites:
– You have access to a computer with a good internet connection, on which you’ll install a professional code/text editor (e.g. Sublime Text or VScode)
– You can independently solve and describe your solution to a math or programming problem.
Course Benefit:
– This course qualifies you to begin a career in developing web applications
– This course qualifies you to apply for the full Nanodegree programme in the upcoming cohort

2. Phyton Programming Foundation
Learn the programming fundamentals required for a career in data science. In this programme, you’ll learn to represent and store data using Python data types and variables, and use conditionals and loops to control the flow of your programs.
What you Will Learn:
– Phyton’s Data Types
– Computations
– Loops
– Custom Functions
Duration: 1 Month (10hours per Week)
Prerequisites:
– You should feel comfortable performing basic operations on your computers like opening files and folders, opening applications, and copying & pasting.
– You should also be able to read, write, and listen in English
– Proficiency in JavaScript. You should also be comfortable with Linux basic commands, object-oriented programming concepts, and Networking.
