1. Position: Equipment Operator I
Location: Ibadan
Qualification
– National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related role in a well-structured organization.
Roles:
The successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
• Carry out maintenance of underground cables, circuit breakers etc., daily operation of powerhouse equipment and receiving of AGO.
• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment in powerhouse such as generators, high voltage panels, and tripping units.
• Assist powerhouse mechanics in carrying out repairs on all mechanical equipment in charge of the powerhouse.
• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
2. Position: Equipment Operator II
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
• Carry out daily operation of all powerhouse equipment and receive AGO.
• Operate and maintain both mechanical and electrical equipment in powerhouse such as generators, high voltage panels, ring main unit, tipping units, batteries, high voltage underground cables, high and low voltage circuit breakers.
• Assist powerhouse mechanics in carrying out repairs on all mechanical equipment’s in charge of powerhouse.
• Carry out general maintenance of all electrical equipment and installations.
• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:
– National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related role in a well-structured organization.
3. Position: Electrical Supervisor (Centravac)
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
• Carry out repair and maintenance on electrical aspects, controls and cables of 2X300 tons and 2X600 tons of Central A/C chillers.
• Repair and maintain high current control panels, condensers, electric motor in central chilling plant and cooling towers for condensers in chilling plant.
• Repair and maintain Air Handling Unit (AHU), cold stores in major buildings and all electrical aspects of Gene-bank cold stores.
• Read sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams, monitor and update inventory of spare parts.
• Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification:
BSc/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years experience performing a similar roles in a well-structured environment.
4.Position: Fabrication Supervisor
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
• Supervise and make requisitions for materials needed for different projects or jobs and prepare monthly chargeback of work done.
• Fabricate and install/fix equipment like heat exchangers, dryers, and other processing equipment.
• Supervise the fabrication, machinist workshop, and spare production.
• Design and construct any of the engineering projects that relate to fabrication.
• Ensure the turner machine and other tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
– BSc/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
5. Position: Plant Operator
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
• Perform daily record, operate, and maintain chiller machine.
• Clean and operate cooling tower machine in the plant room and maintain plant pumps.
• Maintain, clean valves and wash filters of the air handling unit.
• Perform all other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification:
OND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
6. Position: Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Supervisor
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
• Coordinate daily Refrigeration and Air-conditioning workshop activities.
• Organize work schedules for all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
• Allocate subordinates for servicing, maintenance and replacing of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning equipment.
• Supervise subordinates to ensure jobs are carried out effectively.
• Provide daily information on completed work, work in progress and pending jobs.
• Schedule quarterly preventive maintenance of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning equipment.
• Supervise staff in air conditioning and refrigerating unit.
• Read sketches, schematics and writing diagrams, monitor and update the inventory of spare parts.
• Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification:
BSc/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
7. Position: Communication Technician
Location: Ibadan
Roles: • Support the media team in developing and writing stories for institute newsletters i.e IITA News and Talking Drums and other online platforms.
• Backstop the media and visitor’s unit through research, exhibition support, events management, visits and orientation, media, outreach, and documentation of institutional events.
• Produce and air a program on Radio IITA dedicated to specific research themes e.g nutrition and health.
• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:
OND in Mass Communication or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar or related role in a well-structured organization.
8. Position: Research Technician
Location: Ibadan
Roles:
• Carry out field data collection, seed production and processing and plant growth management.
• Carry out field disposition, labor allocation and management.
• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:
OND in Agriculture or related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing similar or related role in a well-structured organization.
