Applications are now being accepted for Polygon Bootcamp Africa 2022 for Web3 Developers, presented in collaboration with Xend Finance. This combination of an intense eight-week course and hackathon will place African developers on the global Web3 map.
The rising awareness of blockchain as a solution for real world problems is demonstrated by Polygon’s cooperation with Xend Finance, a business based in Nigeria that is driving a Web3 revolution by making decentralized finance (DeFi) more accessible to everyone. This is an 8-week mentor-led program for you to take the next step in your Web3 Development Journey.
This is Polygon’s most significant effort yet toward offering resources to developers, builders, and creators in Africa, and it comes at a crucial juncture in the region’s history. Polygon’s cutting-edge technology will pave the way for Ethereum and blockchain to gain traction in Africa, a continent with a wide variety of innovation hotspots that values decentralized and cross-border cooperation.

Available Tracks
Polygon Bootcamp Africa is split into two concurrent tracks:
- Beginner’s Track: This is the beginner’s route, and it’s designed for Web2 developers who want to make the switch to Web3. This is the first step toward a new line of work, an improved online presence, and the realization of your full potential. Participants will get an understanding of blockchain technology, smart contract development, distributed computing, and the app development process.
- Mastery Track: This path is for seasoned Web3 developers who have already built a number of successful projects. It’s possible that you’re a developer for the new web on the side, or that this is your full-time job. The participants will acquire a thorough understanding of Polygon’s scalability options.

- The top three Beginner projects will be considered for bounties of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000, respectively, while Mastery projects will compete for bounties of $10,000, $7,000, and $5,000. The top Mastery submissions will also be funneled into Polygon’s Accelerator program, to ensure more mentorship and funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- If you’re a beginner, with little to no knowledge of Web3 and want an opportunity to learn and start, apply to Web3 Beginner Track.
- For the Beginner track, basic knowledge about programming and web3 is needed. For Master track, advanced knowledge or experience in web3 is required.
- You are required to commit 40hrs/week during the learning phase.
