We’re proud of the diversity of our international student body. That’s why starting in September 2022, our admission average-based renewable scholarships will offer undergraduate international students a significant reduction in their tuition fees.

Scholarship eligibility

To be eligible for these scholarships, international students must meet these conditions:

- Advertisement -
  1. The applicant must be a citizen of an African country
  2. The Applicant must study in English
  3. The Applicant must be newly admitted in the Fall term of 2022 or later in one of the specified undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Engineering, Science or Social Science

Available programs

African students studying in English automatically benefit from these scholarships when they enroll in one of these programs:

  • Faculty of Engineering: Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering
  • Faculty of Social Sciences: Sociology, Anthropology, International Development and Globalization, Conflict Studies, Public Administration
  • Faculty of Science: all programs except the joint Honours BSc in Biochemistry / BASc in Chemical Engineering (Biotechnology); the joint Honours BSc in Physics / BASc in Electrical Engineering; and the Honours BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology

Scholarship Benefits

Scholarship amounts vary based on your admission average and the faculty offering the program of study.

  • For Engineering Faculty, scholarship ranges from $100,000 over 4 years ($25,000 a year) to $80,000 over 4 years ($20,000 a year).
  • For Social Sciences, scholarship amount is between $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 a year) to$50,000 over 4 years ($12,500 a year)
  • For Sciences, from $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 a year) to $50,000 over 4 years ($12,500 a year).

  • Candidates for this program must first apply and secure an admission offer to study any of the available courses under the aforementioned Faulculty by going through the normal admission process. For more information about the admission process click here.
