Scholarships are typically based on the academic achievements and abilities you have demonstrated so far. Our wide range of scholarships allow you to study and grow at Aotearoa New Zealand’s specialist land-based university, while covering all or some of your tuition fees and/or living costs. However, you can also receive a scholarship based on your personal qualities, financial need, country of residence and chosen programme of study.

Lincoln University International Undergraduate Scholarship

The International Undergraduate Scholarship (IUGS) was established in 2020 to support academically proven International Students who have not previously studied at Lincoln University.

Up to 10 scholarships valued at NZ$3,000 each are available and are payable by way of a credit to the recipients’ Lincoln University Tuition Fees account, upon confirmation of enrolment in one of Lincoln University’s undergraduate programmes.
The International Office (IO), at their discretion, may agree to award additional scholarships.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, an applicant must
(1) Be a new-to-programme Lincoln University International Student who is registered or planning to
register, in an undergraduate programme in the 2021 academic year,
(2) Not be in receipt of any other scholarship, and
(3) Meet all necessary immigration requirements to study in New Zealand, and
(4) Meet all academic and English language requirements for admission.

The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit

Lincoln University Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

The Lincoln University Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s scholarship was established in
2018 to support and reward international students of the highest academic ability in further study at Lincoln University.
Scholarships to the value of NZ$5,000 are available, and are payable by way of a credit to the recipients’ Lincoln University Tuition Fees account upon confirmed enrolment.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship an applicant must:
3.1. Be an International student who has not previously studied in an academic programme at Lincoln University, and
3.2. Meet the academic and English language requirements for admission to their chosen programme at Lincoln University, and
3.3. Meet all necessary immigration requirements to study in New Zealand, and
3.4. Not hold any other scholarship.
Note: Students who are currently enrolled in the Diploma in University Studies, and who gain entrance into a Bachelor degree programme subsequently also eligible to apply.

180-credit Taught Master Merit Scholarship

Qualifying international students will be awarded a scholarship of NZ$7,000 or NZ$10,000 towards the overall cost of their study in one of the 180 credit taught master’s programmes. No separate application is required. Lincoln will assess and offer the scholarship automatically to qualifying international students. For more information contact the International Office.

Scholarship Eligibility

Students must have a GPA of at least B+ average in the last year of their bachelor’s degree to meet the requirements.

Lincoln University Doctoral Scholarships

This scholarship was established to provide opportunities for students to pursue PhD study and research at Lincoln University. Our Doctoral Scholarship is one of the most prestigious postgraduate scholarships in Aotearoa New Zealand.

It will help you to further expand your knowledge and potential through PhD study and research, and is awarded purely on your academic ability and study achievements to date. Scholarship value: $28,000 annually for a maximum of three years, paid in fortnightly instalments, plus tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have gained entrance into the Doctor of Philosophy at Lincoln University
  • Be new to the Lincoln University Doctoral Programme at the start of the first semester following the award of your scholarship
  • Have registered for the Lincoln Doctoral Programme no more than six months before the application close date.
