[APPLY NOW] Rotary Peace Fellowship 2022 For Young Leaders

Applications for the Rotary Peace Fellowship For Young Leaders for the 2023-24 academic year are currently open.

A key goal of the Rotary Peace Centers program is to strengthen the skills of peace and development professionals so that they may be more effective peacemakers in their local communities and throughout the world. For example, the fellowships pay for the cost of tuition and fees as well as the cost of living expenses, round-trip transportation, and field-study expenses.

About Rotary Peace Fellowship

This fellowship is for people who have worked on peace and development before. It’s called the Rotary Peace Fellowship. Our fellows want to help people in their communities and around the world, and they want to find ways to make the world a better place. As many as 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and up to 80 for certificate studies are given out by the Rotary Foundation each year. They are given out at top universities.

Available Programmes

  • Master’s degree programme

Accepted applicants study peace and development problems in a research-informed environment with a varied student population, which complements their academic training. For the duration of the program, participants plan a two- or a three-month field research, which they conduct on their own.

  • A certificate program for professional development

It is a one-year blended learning program that teaches experienced peace and development professionals with varied backgrounds how to promote peace in their communities and throughout the world. Fellows not only do research but also create and implement a social change program. This class is for people who are already working. Fellows get a diploma after they finish the program.

Scholarship Eligibility

Master’s degree candidates must also:

  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
    Potential for leadership
  • Have at least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work

Certificate Programme candidates must also:

  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Have at least five years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
    Be able to explain how their plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary’s mission
  • Candidates for Makerere University: Either be from Africa, have worked in Africa, or work with African communities or initiatives outside the continent.

Other Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the fellowship. Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are not eligible to apply.
  • Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the certificate program, or a Global Grant Scholarship, must wait three years between the end date of that program and their intended start date for the fellowship.

  • You are not eligible if you are an active Rotary member, employee of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity.
